Proposal to buy land in Fosters for park tabled again
The motion to purchase land in Fosters for a new park was tabled once again after high tension in the Tuscaloosa County Commission chambers Wednesday.
The Tuscaloosa Park and Recreation Authority approached the commission in October to ask for $1.3 million to buy 108 acres on Holly Springs Lane in Fosters for a park. The motion was tabled at that time after a debate over the geological substance of the land.
When the subject was revisited on Wednesday, District 4 Commissioner Reginald Murray withdrew his motion to transfer $700,000 from the surplus fund to the general fund to purchase the property.
